One-By-One
You've heard the concept of Six Degrees of Separation. You can google it on the internet but simply put, we are all connected. Hypothetically, if you started a chain of communication with the people that you know, and they share the message with the people they know, eventually the message will come back to you from someone who you did not consider to be in your initial circle of family, friends, and acquaintances. The most obvious example of this concept is Facebook and other social networking sites. Word of mouth can cut across social, economic, racial, religious, national, and age boundries. Adults are parents, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, workers, employers, leaders, soldiers, and every other social role and occupation that holds human societies together. One-By-One we can reach everyone on a personal level. It starts with you and your power to choose.
We believe that Choosing to align ones life with the Prime Directive is a choice to which everyone should be invited. Our way of accomplishing that goal is by inviting you to share our message with the people you know. Why? Because everyday you hear or read in the news, or witness in your neighbor the breakdown of social order. We have already written a future of desperation and tradegy for our children. We now have the technological capacity for global destruction and yet we have not learned how to share the planet in harmony as interdependent members of a single family. Those who survive what we have sown will need the Prime Directive to build a sustainable existence when the dust settles. Few people want or like to talk about these things. Who wants to think about death and destruction. By they are as much a part of this reality as birth and growth. We live our choices and we (humans) have made some bad ones. The fate of numerous unborn generations now hangs in the balance as the Mysterious Dr. M. points out in the Handbook. He also points out that we are co-creators and our future is shaped by our choices. We hope that you will choose to align your life with the Prime Directive and that you will encourage others to do the same. We hope that you will choose to Create Peaceful Space in your family, among your friends and co-workers, and even among those who provide you simple services during your everyday activities. We can not completely escape what we have already set in motion but One-By-One we can make a difference.
