There is a wasted but valuable resource in America
waiting to be tapped. Every day in this country
thousands of 'at-risk' and disadvantaged children
walk by their local martial arts school, staring
into the window, wanting to join the fun and challenge
themselves. But their parents are unable to afford
the cost of enrollment. A few blocks away the local
drug dealers and gang member is waiting to offer
those same children a life of misery and death,
for free. For just a few dollars a potential leader
becomes a criminal, a drug addict, or another statistic.
The Wu-Te Performance Troupes is a national Leadership
Development Program for 'at risk' and disadvantaged
youth. In order to achieve its mission NTTI establishes
Charter Associates in cities and neighborhoods across
the United States. The first Charter Associates
are located in Phoenix, Arizona. NTTI seeks out
highly qualified martial arts, dance, and acrobatics
instructors and schools located in high risk communities.
We Train the Trainers in the mission and curriculum
of the Wu-Te Performance Troupes. NTTI then sponsors
25 to 100 youth from the local community into each
Charter Associate site. If no site exists in the
community or neighborhood, easily accessible to
the local children, then NTTI helps to develop a
site in the area. Through participation in a national
committee and international network the Charter
Associates insure that each Wu-Te Troupe Performer
gets the highest quality training and mentorship
possible.
