Martial & Performing Arts Curriculum top

The elements of the Martial & Healing Arts Curriculum are too numerous to list in this overview. Briefly stated, the curriculum includes the following areas:

Health and Fitness Concepts and Exercises including personal hygiene, lifestyle choices, and 'making and breaking habits'.

Traditional training in Southern/Northern Shaolin Kung Fu Wu Shu and Wu Kung. Wu Shu training emphasizes health and performance/ demonstration techniques, while Wu Kung emphasizes self-defense.

Traditional training in Chin Na. Chin Na literally means to 'seize control' and is the science of seizing, holding, and arresting an opponent with minimal force. It is also an excellent method for teaching the arts of massage and physical therapy, as will as the art of diplomacy.

The Art of Aikijufu - a contemporary style that combines techniques from Aikido, Jujitsu, and Shaolin Kung Fu. An excellent method for teaching confidence, overcoming our personal fears, and working cooperatively and collaboratively with others.

The Arts of Qigong and Tai Chi Chuan - These arts are a central part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and are increasing becoming mainstream in the United States. Today these techniques are being used in mainstream medicine as effective treatments for stress and pain management and many related medical conditions. Students learn both internal Qigong (for self-healing) and external Qigong (for helping others to heal). It is an excellent method for teaching empathy and compassion, and the principles of interrelatedness, interconnectedness, and interdependence.

Meditation or Trance Utilization - various systems of meditation and trance utilization are taught to assist students in gaining self-understanding, self-discipline, and self-control.

The Martial Arts curriculum will also offer other positive and effective training opportunities not mentioned in this brief overview (i.e., advanced hand, eye, body coordination exercises for the 3-5 year olds).
